Clarity Business Edition facilitates a smooth migration to Voice over IPVoice over IP is a winning choice for private and corporate users / Increasingly, IT decision makers are counting on a rash transfer to this new technology in corporate telephony / Main arguments for the VoIP relate to its flexibility and the cost savings it allows / Clarity Business Edition gives its customers many advantages and facilitates a stepwise transfer / Possibility of using the existing infrastructureThe latest CeBIT indicates that Voice over IP is a huge success. Christoph Pfeiffer, Clarity AG’s CEO, explains that "there is an increasing tendency for households and companies to substitute the classical telephone with IP telephony based on VoIP. This technological transformation is picking up its pace more and more." The current study conducted by Handelsblatt and the international consulting company Droege & Comp entitled "What drives the IT decision makers, 2007" confirms this prognosis. Those who were interviewed estimate that more than half of all companies shall be using VoIP by 2010. Currently this figure is only at 19%. According to Pfeiffer, IT decision makers expect such a speedy transfer to Voice over IP because of the immense advantages that this technology offers. After all, it allows the user to completely eliminate the conventional telephony infrastructure, such as telephone cables and conventional desk telephones. Theoretically speaking, company computers, headsets and a computer network would suffice for the telephony operations to be conducted via Voice over IP. In this sense, phoning operations would merely count as another internet activity. One of the key strengths of VoIP is the huge cost advantage that it can bring a company. Compared to the classical standard telephony, Pfeiffer has pointed out that these cost reductions can amount to up to 30 %. This is mainly attributed to the elimination of the telephony infrastructure. With this system it is possible for internal firm calls to be made free of charge, which is especially significant for companies with various offices. Furthermore, telephony costs for external calls conducted via VoIP also drop. Clarity AG offers with the Clarity Business Edition a telecommunication system which will allow companies to reap all the advantages of this new technology. The system additionally facilitates a smooth migration with a stepwise transfer to Voice over IP, which is especially important for companies since many of them will not immediately transfer to VoIP, due to not only the high costs involved but also to the existing current telephony infrastructure that still represents a high quality and generally approved telephony platform. The Clarity Business Edition supports the coexistence of VoIP, ISDN and other analogue telephony, enabling all standards to be combined as needed. Pfeiffer explains that "firms are able to profit from the advantages of the new technology whilst simultaneously productively using the existing infrastructure."
