What does UMS contribute?

Nowadays, customers and company keep in touch through a multiplicity of means of communication. With UMS, Unified Messaging System, the communication channels from telephone, fax, to Email, can be unified and therefore the customer communication simplified.

Apart from the personal call, especially the telephone is used as the main communication medium to keep up customer contact. For also during the internet era, most business transactions are handled via the more than 100 years old technology. To this come fax and since about 20 years, Email. Every communication channel has its advantages and disadvantages and so a problem occurs in the expedient combination of all communication channels. After all, the diversity of the appliances endangers the false classification of information to customer scene and thus become lost. Moreover, the company with various technologies in terms of fax, as well as mail server and the telephone system, challenges the technical infrastructure. Modern telecommunication systems, such as the Clarity Communication Center, are able to combine the communication channels efficiently and therefore simplify the technical operation.

The Clarity Communication Center emphasizes this especially by using the Unified Messaging module (UMS). UMS means the unification or rather the access to several communication channels, such as telephone, fax and Email, over one single interface. Email plays here a very important role. All incoming and outgoing messages, no matter in which form, will be dealt with uniformly as Email. With the destination address and kind of message, the UMS system decides how the message will be sent to recipient. Incoming fax messages are converted by the UMS module, for example to an electronic file format like a jpeg or pdf, and directly forwarded to Inbox of recipient as Email. Every employee is also able to send faxes over his Email account. This is cost-saving in maintenance of fax machines. The main advantage of this form of data transfer, is that the employee can directly save the fax messages, which have reached him electronically, and therefore easy to classify a customer scene.

A further application example for UMS is the processing of voice messages. If a customer leaves a message on the speech mailbox of a contact person, the UMS module of the Clarity Communication Center converts this message to an electronic format, like for example to a wave file, and sent to the contact person as an Email attachment.  This employee can listen to the voice message, save it and classify the correct customer.

That is only a small section of the possibilities of UMS. However, it does not matter how large you use it; due to the unification of communication ways by the  Clarity Communication Center, operation of communication channels are essentially technically simplified. Therefore, enormous costs savings can be realized. In addition, customer communication are superiorly comprehended and the quality of communication generally improved.
